Who We Are

Established in 1925, the Indiana Business Research Center is an integral unit in the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
The IBRC’s mission is to empower communities and their leadership to build equitable and thriving regions through strategic insights, data and practical research.
Our vision
Our vision is to be a leading resource for user-friendly, practical applications of data, research and policy insights and to be recognized across the state, the nation and the globe for excellence in research and practice by regional science and economic development faculties and institutions.
The IBRC maintains databases on numerous topics such as income, employment, taxes, sectors of the economy, education, demographics and a host of other economic indicators for the nation, the state and local areas. In addition, the Center conducts original research to generate needed information when existing data are not available or sufficient.
Our aim
The goal of the IBRC is to put analytical tools and practical research into the hands of its users to help them transcend the challenges of today's rapidly changing world. In doing so, we fulfill Indiana University’s engagement mandate to serve, directly and indirectly, constituents and communities at all regional levels ― local, state, national and international. By fulfilling our mission: 1) the IBRC also assists Indiana University in teaching and developing students who positively impact the organizations and communities in which they work and live; and 2) participates in research that advances both theory and practice.
